About The Doris Stanley Memorial Library
The Moody Public Library , established in 1978 from a bookmobile initiative, evolved under the leadership of Anita Day and later Doris Stanley. Beginning in the Civic Center building and later a section of the fire station, the library eventually secured its own dedicated space behind City Hall in 1992. Renamed to honor Mrs. Stanley in 2000, the library continued to expand its services under the guidance of Patsy Spradley until her retirement in 2022. In 2017, a new 5,600-square-foot facility was inaugurated, equipped with modern amenities to better serve the community.
