About the department mission

The Public Works Department primary objective is to keep the right of ways and streets within the City of Moody maintained in a timely manner. This includes grass cutting and fixing pot holes.  The Department is constantly working to improve the city and help it to be place where people want to live.

Duties

  • City of right of way maintenance
  • Cut back bushes, hedges and limbs for safety and visibility
  • City right of way sign control
  • Cleaning of ditches and culverts along right of way
  • Cleaning storm debris along right of way
  • Rental of Whites Chapel Community Center
  • Responsible for Alabama Power city street lights
  • Displaying banners/flags for holidays and special events
  • Decorating for the Christmas season
