Christmas Parade General Guidelines
Keep as a Reference for Important Information

  • All entries must complete an application to participate in the parade.  The Parade Committee reserves the right to reject applications.
  • Applications must be received by December 6, 2017.
  • Walkers under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • All entries that are judged must promote the parade’s theme.  A number will be assigned to your entry by December 10th.
  • All floats must be supervised by an adult.
  • No Santas or full Santa costumes.  Our real Santa would be very jealous.
  • All entries must have a fire extinguisher.
  • Floats must be at ADESA completely assembled NO LATER THAN 4:30.
  • Parade Line-Up will be on first come, first serve basis and will begin at 4:00 P. M.  The parade will begin at 5:00 p.m.
  • Parade float and entries must have a banner that identifies the group or organization.
  • The City of Moody and the Moody Area Chamber of Commerce will NOT be responsible for any accidents resulting from candy being thrown from vehicles.
  • In the event of inclement weather, the parade will be postponed until December 11, 2016, at 3:00 p.m.  This will be announced via the Moody Park Hotline at (205)640-2511.
  • Trophies will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place in 4 categories
    (1) Church/Schools (2) Businesses/Organizations (3) Antique Cars/Motorcycles (4) HorsesThe awards will be given on January 8, 2018, 6:00 p.m. at Moody City Hall.

Vehicle Entry Guidelines

  • Vehicles do not require an identification banner, but should be decorated with Christmas spirit.
  • At all times, vehicles should be driven in a safe manner and adhere to Alabama State Law.

Horse Entry Guidelines

  • All horse riders must ride their horse in a safe manner at all times
  • Horse riders are encouraged to decorate their horse for the parade.
  • All horses will stage in the open field across from ADESA prior to the parade start.  NO horses should be in the parking lot of ADESA.  Horses will not be permitted to ride along the roadways prior to the parade or at the end of the parade due to the increased traffic and night time.  Therefore, it is important that participants drop the horse and riders off at the field.  Then, drive the horse trailer up to Moody City Park for easy departure after the parade.
